Fetching your IP…
An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique number that identifies your device on the internet. Like a home address, it ensures data reaches the correct destination online.
IPv4 is the older version supporting about 4.3 billion addresses, while IPv6 is the newer version supporting vastly more addresses. Most of the internet currently uses IPv4, but is gradually transitioning to IPv6.
A public IP is an address identifiable across the entire internet—this is what this tool displays. A private IP is an address used only within a local network like your home or office.
A dynamic IP changes each time you connect to the internet, while a static IP always remains the same. Most home internet connections use dynamic IPs.
When you need your public IP to set up port forwarding on a router for remote access or a game server, to confirm a VPN or proxy is actually on and your IP has changed, to register (whitelist) your IP with a service, or to troubleshoot a connection problem.
What this tool shows is your public IP exposed to the internet, which differs from the private IP inside your home or office (like 192.168.x.x). A public IP reveals a rough region but not your exact home address. If you want to hide your real location, a VPN changes your IP to the VPN server's. This tool does not store your IP.
No. Jurepi does not store or log your IP address. It is fetched temporarily and then discarded.
Jurepi uses two reliable IP lookup services: api.ipify.org and ipwho.is. If one fails, the tool automatically switches to the other.
Your network environment may not support IPv6. This is normal, and IPv6 adoption is ongoing globally.
The displayed location is an IP-based approximation. It may differ from GPS-based location and is provided by {provider}.
Yes. All lookups happen in your browser only, and your IP is never sent to Jurepi servers. Since IP lookups are public data, there's no security risk.
