What is this tool?
A unit converter turns the same measurement into a different unit. It covers eight everyday categories — length, weight, temperature, area, volume, speed, digital storage, and time — and moves both ways between the metric system and imperial units (feet, pounds, Fahrenheit, and so on). Results are calculated the moment you type, and everything runs inside your own browser, so it works even without an internet connection.
How to use it
1. Pick a category (length, weight, temperature, and so on) from the tabs. 2. Type a value and choose the from and to units. 3. The result updates live. Use the swap button to flip the two units, and the slider to set the decimal precision. Your most recent conversions are saved automatically so you can reuse them.
When to use it
Checking dimensions listed in inches or pounds against centimeters and kilograms when shopping overseas, converting a recipe's Fahrenheit temperature or cups and ounces to your own units, gauging miles and gallons as kilometers and liters while traveling, or turning feet into meters to lay out furniture — it gives a quick answer whenever units get mixed up. It's also handy for comparing file sizes in MB and GB, or checking how units relate for study.
Tips and accuracy
Unlike other units, temperature is converted with an affine function (°C × 9/5 + 32 = °F) rather than a simple ratio, and this tool keeps round-trip conversions exact. If a result looks too long, lower the decimal slider; raise it when you need more precision. Every factor follows the International System of Units (SI), and most units other than temperature do not support negative values.
